how's it goin everyone!

new here my name is john! i've got some question for you all if you don't mind. bare with me i'm a noob! I have very little experience with music production. that that i do have is from years back. i have a home built that was completed not too long ago.

here's a list of parts of my home build

nexus prominent r quiet case
gigabyte z68x mb
16 gb cosair ram
cosair force 3 90 ssd
samsung spinpoint 1 tb hd
m audio 2496
cosair hx650

and a random 250 ssd of unknown origin...

this home build was started about 3 years ago probly, maybe more. it sat for that long before i had it put together. i choose each component myself starting with the motherboard. then choosing what will work with what in a fashion of a car guy choosing parts for his car(i'm a car guy who gets how car parts work together). a friend of mine put all of it together as i tried and was immediately dumbfounded. he built his own 6 thousand dollar and put mine together in a matter of hours. then asked me where the 250 gb ssd came from. i told him that i didn't know, i only purchased the 90 gb ssd and 1 tb hd with the thought that those 2 would be all i needed. and if i eventually needed more i'd just get and external. long story short i have 2 ssd's and a hd and they work perfectly with 16 gb of ram and virtually silent.

my previous experience is with fl studio. i'm attempting ableton right now. the OS is windows 10.

like i said i do have questions,... one specific as of right now. i'm not sure if i should as it here or in a different section. i'm still in the setup phase of ableton and that's where my question is centered.

so hello as i say! should i ask question here or move to a different section?
boring ass sig...
